  • Each Kayak will have a First Aid Kit and knife on board.

  • The lead Kayak will carry flares and will have radio and phone contact with shore. It will also carry a spare paddle and tow rope. It is important that the party stays close together at all times - when leaving and returning to shore and also when fishing.

  • Protection from the sun needs to be considered, sunglasses a hat together with a thin long sleeved shirt and thin quick drying trousers may be advisable.

  • Shoes must be non slip and preferably have a marine sole.

  • Rods will not carry hooks or lures on the journey out and back and rods will be securely fastened to the Kayak.

  • When kayaking on the freshwater venues it has to be remembered these are reservoirs constructed by flooding valleys therefore many dangers lie beneath the surface.

  • The Mediterranean Sea has little tidal influence but dangerous currents do exist and it is important not to be lulled into a false sense of security on the sometimes flat calm waters. Any water is dangerous and the Mediterranean is no different. The sea state can change very quickly, usually around one o’clock in the afternoon, from flat calm to choppy. This can become uncomfortable for fishing so it is best to return to shore.

  • Look out for other craft on the water at all times, remember you are in a small craft so do not assume they have seen you, be alert at all times.

  • The self rescue technique will be explained before each trip. Guests staying with us will have time to practice this in our swimming pool
